Still Unheard Out There

MRI speaks at the HEAR network Pride Fringe event

Project Manager, Moud Goba, spoke about MRI’s work with LGBTI asylum seekers and refugees at the HEAR network Pride Fringe event.  ‘Still unheard out there…’ sought to bring together under-represented LGBTQI+ voices to discuss the lives, rights and needs of the “erased” members of our community.

MRI joined intersexUK, UK Lesbian and Gay Immigration Group, Rainbow Pilgrims, Rainbow Head Youth, Bis of Colour and Mind.  The event provided a great platform to discuss intersecting issues affecting the under-represented.  Moud talked about the specific issues faced by LGBTI refugees and MRI’s holistic approach to combatting these.  She also spoke about MRI’s current housing project aiming to address homelessness within the LGBTI refugee community.
